I recently picked these up from my local Target. I thought that they were all super stunning and very comparable to some of the Deborah Lippmann colors. Eeeek! :)
Revlon - Smoky Canvas
A Nude Taupe/Creme
A very close dupe to Deborah Lippmann - Waking Up in Vegas
Very cute mushroom color.
Applied two coats.
Revlon - Blue Mosaic
A Blue Glitter
From looking at the bottle, I immediately thought that this lacquer would be a close match to Deborah Lippmann - Across the Universe but unfortunately the two are not similar at all. Across the Universe has a deep ocean blue base while Blue Mosaic is clear based. Also, Across the Universe does not have silver glitter while this one does. Regardless, Blue Mosaic is a fun cheerful color which will be great for the upcoming Holidays.
Applied three coats.
Revlon - Facets of Fuchsia
A Black with Purple Glitter
Definitely a dupe for Deborah Lippmann - Bad Romance
Stunning color!
Applied two coats.
Revlon - Starry Pink
A Pink with Silver Glitter
A lovely soft milky color.
This was love at first sight, I can't get enough of it.
My favorite out of all of them.
Applied two coats.
I am currently hooked on a store called The Pyramid Collection, which everything that they sell is themed by "Myth, Magick, Fantasy & Romance." I am in love! Everything is so unique! By looking at their website, I am getting very excited for the month of October.
My love for organic coconut oil as a beauty product is never ending. In this post, I'm going to share my secrets with you, that have been passed down to me.
What to look for when purchasing your coconut oil:
- USDA Organic seal
- Organic Extra Virgin
- Cold pressed
- Unrefined
Ways to use coconut oil:
- Eye makeup remover-
(Does not sting the eyes, great for moisturizing and conditioning eye lashes)
- Excellent moisturizer (massage oil) for all skin types on the face and body-
(Coconut oil is very nourishing for the skin. It has antimicrobial properties and antioxidants which help fight free radicals to help keep skin looking youthful.)
****Virgin coconut oil doesn't clog your skin pores yet helps to clear the toxic buildup in them.
*Great to use on dry skin. Example(s): Hands, cuticles, elbows, knees and feet. Any area that is dry, coconut oil is your miracle worker.
- Hair conditioner-
(Makes hair shiny and keeps it looking healthy. Helps prevent split ends and breakage. Helps reduce protein loss, and is ideal for bringing hair back to life while it strengthens dry, over-styled, damaged and dull hair. Also controls dandruff.)
How to use coconut oil on the hair:
Deep conditioning treatment: Add the coconut oil on dry hair starting at the scalp massaging it in and then work it down to the ends. Pin it up and leave it on over night so it will penetrate into the scalp and hair shaft. In the morning, when you take a shower, wet the hair first rinsing out the coconut oil, shampoo and then use your conditioner if you want to. (Using a conditioner is optional)
Styling: Use a small amount (too much will make the hair appear greasy) to make hair shiny and to add brilliance.
Coconut oil for hair has been used widely in certain parts of Asia such as India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Burma and the Philippines.
Coconut oil has a ton of health benefits, more than I have listed above. If you are interested in learning more information about it, google, "Health benefits of coconut oil" and you will find a lot of information that is dedicated to using this natural miracle product as a healthy lifestyle.
I recently picked up four nail polishes that I am super excited about. Two of the colors I have been searching everywhere for and finally got my hands on them and the other two, I just couldn't resist! The colors were just too cute to pass up. Cute as a button, cute! The most exciting news is that I only paid, $2.99 each for them. What a deal! My local Sally's Beauty Supply is having an August monthly sale on China Glaze for $4.99 and since I am a licensed cosmetologist, I got them for $2.99! I think I may have ended up doing a snoopy dance, I was that happy and excited. :)
Here they are! The first two are the ones that I had to have because the colors are just too cute. The last two are the ones that I have been dying to get!
Flip Flop Fantasy: A very bright neon coral pink.
Secret Periwinkle: is an adorable purplish/blue color. It's hard to describe this one... because it is so unique. In the photo it looks blue, but in person the tone is purple/blue.
On my ring finger is the Sally Hansen Salon Effects in Kitty Kitty! I love these, they are so much fun. I am in awe over this trendy look at the moment where all of the nails are painted one color except for the ring finger. Which can be a totally different design or color. Another cute way would be to add glitter on just the ring finger.
I really want to try these next time, these are called Laced Up:
I think it would look amazing with all of the fall nail lacquers that are starting to come out.
Strawberry Fields: is a beautiful pink color with gold shimmer. I originally wanted this color only for the name because it reminded me of the Beatles song, "Strawberry Fields Forever" but it wasn't until I saw swatches of it that made me want it even more! I am so ecstatic that I was able to finally find this color!
And last but not least,
For Audrey: This is another unique color. The perfect Tiffany blue color! In 2007, China Glaze released this shade of nail lacquer which closely resembles the Tiffany & Co jewelry boxes, in honor of Audrey Hepburn. I especially feel lucky to have found this color since there was only one left. This shade is a must have for any Audrey Hepburn fan!
I felt very inspired today by the most beautiful flower in the world, Cherry Blossoms.
I wish I could take a walk through a maze of Cherry Blossoms and become lost for a little while.
I also wish I could skip over this 100 degree plus weather to much cooler weather that arrives in the fall and then return to spring. Spring and fall are my absolute favorite seasons.
I wanted this look to be textured with brush strokes that has the look of an actual painting with fine details.

Drawn on the notepad is the Cherry Blossom makeup sketch that I dreamed up and had to put down on paper so I wouldn't forget come time to re-create the drawing.
Some nerdy information that I found on Wikipedia!
Japan gave 3,020 cherry blossom trees as a gift to the United States in 1912 to celebrate the nations' then-growing friendship, replacing an earlier gift of 2000 trees which had to be destroyed due to disease in 1910. These trees were planted in Sakura Park in Manhattan and famously line the shore of the Tidal Basin in Washington, D.C.
I give many thanks to Japan!
My Playlist of songs that I listened to while creating this look:
Want to know how I created this look? Just keep reading, just keep reading to find out! :)
What I used:
120 Manly Palette - eBay: Around $20.00
(A great starter palette that my boyfriend gifted me when I became fascinated with makeup.)
Lancome Kohl Pencil - White
Maybelline EyeStudio Gel Liner - Black
L'oreal Double Extend Lash Mascara
False lashes on upper and on lower lash line
My palette is so dusty from knocking it over so many times, the colors aren't even in order anymore. hehe!
This makeup look is really all about having fun splashing different neon vibrant colors on and around your eyes.
The first step in creating this look is to draw the lightning bolt the way you want it to look with the white kohl liner this is only your rough draft so you can fix mistakes along the way. The next step is to fill in the lightning bolt with the gel eyeliner then go back over it with the matte black eyeshadow from the 120 Manly Palette. Now here comes the fun part! *Rubs hands together*
To achieve a splattered paint like effect, take a makeup brush that looks like this:
Dip it in the first color that you want, make sure you saturate the brush with color.. hold the brush up to your face close to where you want the eyeshadow to splatter.. put your finger on top of the brush pull back and release!
You can try it on the back of your hand a couple of times until you get the hang of it. But once you do, the fun and creativity never ends.
Lips: Urban Decay Lip Liner in Naked
MAC - Myth
My Playlist of songs that I listened to while creating this look:
